Ingredients
- 2 cup 2 heaping cup cornmeal
- 1 cup 1 heaping cup flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 3 egg, whites and yolks beaten separately
- 21/2 cup sweet milk
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 8 hot dog, diced
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Sift together the corn meal, flour, and baking powder in a large bowl.
Whip the egg whites until peaks form, in a large bowl. Meanwhile, mix together the egg yolks, the milk, the melted butter, sugar, and salt until smooth in a small bowl.
Beat the egg yolk mixture into the corn meal mixture until just moistened. Using a spatula, fold the corn meal-egg yolk batter in to the whites until thoroughly combined.
Mix the hot dogs in with batter and bake for 50-60 minutes.
